A JOURNEY IN SELF DISCOVERY
Our “Vision Statement” says that “We exist for the purpose of helping individuals build a foundation of authenticity and true identity while finding healing and freedom from life controlling issues.” This is truly “A journey in Self Discovery”.
Robert Subby says: "When we possess a sense of identity we possess a clear sense of who and what we are which is separate from others; we
are emotionally and intellectually independent; we are emancipated from dependency on the outside world for a sense of self and we possess realistic understanding of our intrapersonal strengths and weaknesses. A sense of identity means that we have developed a clear, loving, accepting, and intimate relationship with ourselves." Our worth, value & true identity cannot be based upon anything external but rather that which is internal.
The Onesimus Connection in a man's journey of self discovery. It is a
story of a man named Onesimus who, percieved to be "worthless" (by
himself & others), came to know his "true identity" as a man of worth and value.
OnhsimoV - Greek: Profitable or Worthy
Onesimus was a man who had his own unresolved issues. Instead of dealing with his problems he did like many people do and ran from them. Incarcerated and miles from home, Onesimus was now forced to deal with those issues. As it worked out, he had a cellmate named Paul who helped him to find his worth and identity. In this dark hour, Onesimus rediscovered the person he was originally created to be. (Philemon 1)
The purpose of “The Onesimus Connection” is to help individuals discover their true identity and self-worth through Counseling & Life Coaching. In discovering their true self, they are enabled to better deal with the various issues and complex problems they face in their personal lives. Instead of their "identity" being defined by their external world - their true "inner identity" now defines their external world.
Bill Nichols - Certified Professional Life Coach: "I work with individuals who struggle with self-worth issues. I help them understand their true identity thus enabling them to build a healthy self-esteem. This is important because all of our relationships in life - be it work, friends, home, and even God - all hinge upon how well we respect and love ourselves."
“What God has started ... He will finish.
Hold on to your dreams and believe for
Him to finish what He has begun”
